National Popcorn Day

There are tons of reasons to celebrate this month.
January is home to New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday, and who can forget Chinese New Years.
January is also home to National Popcorn Day! Yes, America’s forgotten snack food gets its own day!
It only makes sense, as January is also time for New Years Resolutions of getting fit, and eating better. Popcorn fits right into that plan with no oils, fats or sugars added to it. A single portion of popcorn contains more antioxidants than all the fruit and veg most people eat in a day, as noted in a study by Scranton University. Popcorn also has a large amount of vitamins; folate, niacin, riboflavin, thiamine, vitamins B, A, E, and K, as well as being a source of iron, potassium, and zinc! did I mention that a cup of popcorn only has about 31 calories?
To celebrate the holiday, I’ve called upon some friends to share some of their favorite popcorn recipes with you! Feel free to start with the kernels and pop your own, or do what I do, and buy some already popped to speed up the process! (We recommend Gaslamp Popcorn out of Riverside California!). Also, don’t forge to take our survey at the end!
Enjoy the recipes, and remember…Popcorn isn’t just for the movies anymore!
